Susan Dunker's paintings embody colors of

a way you feel each piece pulsating with visual activity.![]() The Kern Plateau A scene near Lake Isabella, this piece is one of the first oil paintings the artist implemented the use her "open color" technique that she employs in all her pastels. ![]() Haybales Along I-5 The frequent drive through Arvin and all the dairies and fields south of bakersfield inspired Haybales Along I-5. ![]() Susan Dunker While studying Art History, Susan became familiarized with various art movements of the early 20th century, including the Post-Impressionists, French Fauves and Nabis. Susan discovered a natural predilection to the French Fauve style, which encouraged freedom in the use of bold, vivid colors and brash brush work.
